One Good Deed Deserves a Curse and a Fist Shake
A driver stopped to let 15 cars leave a supermarket car park, while nearly 100 others waited behind them and discovered the limits of civic kindness.
SatireA driver has recounted the unbelievable scenes they witnessed this week when another motorist stopped to let 15 cars exit a supermarket car park, while nearly 100 drivers waited behind them. The Shocker crew were lucky enough to catch up with some of those involved and can bring you the scoop.
Speaking with the driver who had stopped to let the others go ahead, they insisted the gesture had been completely innocent.
“I was doing something nice, like. Those poor people stuck in the car park need to get home too. I don’t know why everyone is so angry with me.”
One of the drivers who made it out of the car park was less troubled by the arrangement.
“I mean, it’s kind of silly, right? But I’m not going to complain if they want to let me out. I get home faster. Would hate to be the poor sods stuck behind them though.”
Courtesy, from a safe distance
A driver from the long queue behind the good Samaritan was less kind in their description of events. Their quote has been heavily edited.
“Fucking [expletive], bullshit, fucking raging about this fucking fuck, fuck, fuck, fuck, fuck.”
The quote was longer, but we felt this shortened version conveyed the driver’s true feelings on the matter.
Another driver was seen shaking their fist in the sky as the person in front received courtesy waves and acknowledgements from each grateful motorist they had allowed out.
“I love that little fuzzy, warm feeling you get when you do something nice — and sure I never look in my mirrors, so how am I supposed to know there were so many people behind me?”
Good deeds with seemingly unintended negative consequences have become a hot topic on social media, where users continue to debate whether any action can remain good if you look hard enough in the rear-view mirror.
